BRUCE JACKLIN & COMPANY Bruce Jacklin & Company was formed in 2004 with a group of actors and volunteers who wanted to put together quality entertainment for the Mount Vernon, Ohio, community. Since then, Bruce Jacklin & Company has produced many quality productions. Most of these productions have been performed at The Alcove Dinner Theater in downtown Mount Vernon. Larger, family-oriented summer musicals at Knox County's Memorial Theatre have included Disney's Beauty and the Beast and J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. Jacklin is an art teacher in Mount Vernon City Schools.
Serving the central Ohio area since 1847, First-Knox National Bank prides itself on providing financial expertise from a caring staff; supporting business leaders, civic organizations, and families; and taking an active role in community life. One of the ways this occurs is through the bank's sponsorship of the "First-Knox Brings Broadway to the Memorial" series, produced by MTVarts. The bank president noted, We work to be the type of financial institution you will want to recommend to your family and friends."
PEOPLE FIRST OF OHIO People First began in Ohio in 1998 by a group of self-advocates who wanted to improve their abilities to represent themselves and to train others to be self-advocates. People First of Ohio has members with all types of disabilities. Members are teens through adults. We believe that all people with disabilities should be treated as equal and be able to speak up for what they want by serving as leaders and working together as a team with all members of the community.
ORANGE BARREL PRODUCTION COMPANY The orange barrels that frequent our Ohio highways are often viewed as a nuisance by the driving population; however the orange barrel really signifies that construction is in progress. New paths are being created or improved, and the barrels are there to protect the drivers and the workers as well. Our production company embraces those sentiments. With an emphasis on quality entertainment that is safe for the entire family, Orange Barrel Production Company continues to bring a level of excellence that rivals that of professional theater companies. OBPC was created to provide theatrical education to its members in all forms of the dramatic arts.
RIGHT BRAIN PRODUCTIONS Right Brain Productions, a family-oriented organization, provides artistic activities and events that relate to imagination and creativity. Guided by individuals who thrive in the musical and visual arts, opportunities are continually developed to energize creative skills and to stimulate imaginative abilities of all ages. DERR DESIGNS Derr Designs was established in 2006. They have worked with a variety of businesses and organizations to create effective Web and online solutions. Their desire is to bring you a site that will suit you and your audience's needs. Derr Designs especially enjoys working with non-profit organizations to provide an affordable product.
WESTIE PRODUCTIONS Owned by Scott and Carrie Swingle, Westie Productions was created in 2007 videotaping local theatrical productions at The Alcove Restaurant in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Scott dreamed that one day he would be able to preserve peoples memories in video form for them to enjoy over and over. Westie Productions provides quality video services to preserve memories of significant events. Their two Westies, Picard and Riker, serve as company mascots.
BLACK CAT CREATIVE With a background in public relations, graphic design, photography, writing, and marketing, Carrie A. Crouch began Black Cat Creative in 2006. Black Cat serves a variety of needs, from creating quality promotional materials to establishing corporate identity packages. Carrie has worked with central Ohio businesses, organizations, and individuals, strengthening their images while providing excellent customer service.
NEWSPAPERS IN EDUCATION The Mount Vernon News Newspaper In Education (NIE) program was established in 1998 to provide an educational service arm for the newspaper. Its goal is to assist schools, teachers, and parents in developing future readers who can use the newspaper to enrich their lives and participate responsibly in their community, state, and nation. The NIE department of the Mount Vernon News has partnered with MTVarts to provide chapter stories and theatre features on the newspaper's "Get Excited About Reading" page. These features coincide with the family-oriented summer musicals.
