Those auditioning should be 15 and older.

ENSEMBLE

Large (approx 40, need 10 soprano voices, 10 alto, 8 tenor, 8 bass) singing-dancing ensemble of Villagers, Merchants, Maidens and Palace Guests

Vocal Audition Selections for Cinderella

All pieces must be sung in the key in which the song is found in the score.

Fairy Godmother – mezzo-soprano or mezzo-contralto-– Everyone will be asked to sing measures 10-56 of Impossible, key of G flat major. Auditionees may also be asked to sing measures 50-61 of the Prologue and/or measures 1-19 of There's Music in You. For callbacks, be prepared to sing all of the above songs for this role.

Cinderella – soprano or mezzo-soprano- must have facility in lower and middle ranges Everyone will be asked to sing measures 29-86 of In My Own Little Corner, key of F major. Auditionees may also be asked to sing from the following: measures 8-40 of The Sweetest Sounds, measures 180-212 of Ten Minutes Ago, measures 6-37 of When You'reDriving Through the Moonlight. For callbacks, be prepared to sing all of the above

Christopher (Prince) – high baritone or tenor – Everyone will be asked to sing measures 27-57 of Do I Love You, key of A minor. Auditionees may also be asked to sing measures 44-79 of The Sweetest Sounds, measures 4-20 of Loneliness of Evening, measures 33-64 of Ten Minutes Ago. For callbacks, be prepared to sing all of the above songs for this role.

Queen – Mezzo-contralto or mezzo-soprano – Everyone will sing measures 20-36 of Boys and Girls Like You and Me, key of E major. For callbacks, be prepared to sing all of this piece with auditionees for King

King – baritone – Everyone will sing measures 4-19 of Boys and Girls Like You and Me, key of E major. For callbacks, be prepared to sing all of this piece with auditionees for Queen.

Joy and Grace (Stepsisters) Mezzo-sopranos or sopranos with facility in lower and middle range- Everyone will sing measures 13-60 of Stepsisters' Lament, key of C major. Sing both parts for audition. For callbacks, be prepared to sing this entire piece with other auditionees.

Lionel (steward) tenor- must be able to sustain a G above middle C – must have a strong voice. Sing any piece from musical theatre repertoire that shows the upper range.

Ensemble – Sing any piece from musical theatre repertoire.

Important Audition Info:

Wear comfortable clothing because you will be asked to learn a brief choreographed dance

Plan to stay for the entire session

Please do not bring food or drink into the theatre

We will provide an accompanist and will have music for the audition pieces that are listed on the website

These are not open auditions, so people not auditioning will not be permitted to watch the auditions

Callbacks will be Sunday May 1st, you will receive a phone call from Production Manager Leah Andrews if you are needed at the callback session

The cast list will be posted by midnight Wednesday May 4th

The first read through will be Saturday May 7th from 1-4pm at Pleasant Street Elementary
